Replenish Your Soul

Even though we feel everything is going very well, sometimes if we stop and think we feel a catch in our step. There are times when we feel we are accomplishing a lot but we are really in a rut.

At this time we need to replenish our soul. There are so many minutes in a day and I know that we feel that there is no way to add even one more thing, no matter how little time it will take.

But we have to acknowledge that somethings have to take priority. Mom's think that the priority should be the kids, Dad's think that it should be work and kid's feel it is school, or having fun. But everyone of us have something that should be our number one priority and that is ourselves. If we cannot nurture ourselves and replenish our souls the other important things in our lives won't get the full benefit of what they need from us.

People have been programmed to think that if we put ourselves first, even for a brief time, then we are somehow not doing things the right way. That is so wrong. If we fail to take care of ourselves we will fail those around us who need us.

I have found that if I take sometime for myself, just by myself and act silly or watch a total chick flick that has me sobbing at the end, when I integrate back into my day to day life, I feel more able to handle what needs to get done. I have had time to decompress and let some external and internal baggage go. Which allows me to be able to give more of myself when needed.

Everyone needs to find something that is relaxing and yet stimulating to themselves. If you don't take the time you need, you will feel more and more tied up inside and you then become less able to achieve in the proper manner what has to be done.

I have been in the work force a long time, and something a boss told me about, a long while ago, is called a mental health day. No matter your career, housewife or CEO of a large corporation or a receptionist at a small office. Everyone needs time to themselves to replenish their soul.

For me that would be a quiet day or quiet time by myself. For others it may be joining a book club, something that is of interest to you but away from your normal day to day circle. I have a friend that has joined an Opera club. She replenishes her soul by doing something that not only has entertainment value, but educational value too.

Replenishing your soul means something different to everyone, what works for me doesn't mean it will work for you. So take the time to think of something that piques your interest and make it work for you. You deserve it, know that - You Deserve It!

So even if you feel there is no time in your day to take time to replenish your soul, rethink that thought. We all want to contribute to our world to the best of our abilities and if we are worn out and de-energized, then we need to take to heart the fact that we are important too, and we need to find a way to give ourselves the permission to find a way to make time for ourselves and find our secret little trick that will replenish our soul.
