I tell you I do find my blog ideas in the most of unusual places. Today's is from yesterday's Young and Restless. Ryder told Jana that they would 'Make the best of their circumstances.'
You know we can't always control our circumstances, but we do have the ability to control how we handle them. It all boils down to what we talked about yesterday, attitude.
I know this is my usual day off from my blog, so this one won't be long.
No matter how hard our circumstances, we don't have to drown in them. Yes, when times are hard we want to bury our heads in the sand or just run in the opposite direction. Neither one helps, trust me I know. I've spent a large part of my life running from difficult circumstances and for a while I did feel better, but in the end they caught up with me. So about 5 years ago I stopped running. 42 is a little older that I should have been, but some of us have harder heads than others.
When I decided to confront my circumstances and I adjusted my attitude to become responsible, things started to fall into place in a better way. I am now looking to my responsibilities and I do feel so much better about life. I have stepped up and take care of those not so fun, but necessary responsibilities. Now I could be all pissed off about those circumstances, but I know that facing them is the right thing to do. My attitude toward them has changed and now I feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment. My circumstances are still there but because I approach them differently, my life is better.
Circumstances are what they are, but how we handle them is up to us. No matter what the circumstances are, no matter how difficult, our attitude will help us deal with them in a more productive and manageable way.
As you know I am a great proponent of seeking out help when you need it. If your circumstances are overwhelming you, seek help. There are many ways to find help, but you know my favorite - the world wide web. Just put what you need help for in your search engine and I can just about guarantee you'll find some words of wisdom that will help you adjust your attitude toward your circumstances.
When we approach our circumstances with a more positive attitude and make the best of them, you will find that maybe they aren't as overwhelming as you first felt.
