Inner Demons

We all have them. Issues, that no matter what, we just can't seem to conquer them and they always seem to pop up at the worst possible times. Don't be too tough on yourself. We all have regrets of past decisions, we've all made mistakes. Exposing our frailties and recognizing that we are not perfect frees us from feeling stupid or "less than."

Bring to light to those things that you are not proud of and realize that through these experiences you have learned great lessons, and have likely become a better person for them. No one is perfect and we all need to acknowledge that. No one can point fingers and get away with it. Maybe you didn't do exactly what they did, but you know your own errors.

Keeping negative actions (your Inner Demons) hidden can overshadow our spirits with shame or depression. We all deserve to live with joy regardless of our imperfections. Those inner demons can truly tear you apart. They sit on your shoulder waiting for just the moment to sink their claws into you. You give them the power to do so by not confronting them. If you keep them hidden your inner demons have the strength, but when you bring them forward into the light you can see them for what they really are, not such a big deal. Expose their frailties and you realize that yours aren't as bad as you thought.

Some have inner demons that are stronger than others. For those demons seek help outside of yourself. There are so many professionals that are trained in compassion and wisdom specifically for your demons. Do not be ashamed or afraid to ask for help. It takes a stronger person to be upfront and say yes I have issues and to reach out for the help they need.

Life is so important, we have to enjoy what we have while we have it and it is those inner demon's mission to make sure we don't. So today in your quiet time make a list of those inner demons. You don't have to share, nor should you, share that list with anyone else. Look at them square on and say okay, how do I fix these? You may only have one or two, others of us may have a page and a half. But that is okay. Start at the top and just work your way down. You will find that with each one defeated, your strength and belief in yourself will grow so much more than you expected enabling you to conquer even more of your demons.

Peace and joy in life is the outcome. Yes, mistakes will still happen, but you will now know how to see them for what they really are - life lessons, not catastrophes that can't be fixed. Believe in yourself, know that you do have the strength required to be what you want to be. I promise, it is inside of you, just keep digging.
