Tomorrow

We have all said it, I will do it 'tomorrow'. No matter what it is, why can't it be done today? How do we know there will be a tomorrow. In the early 1960's everyone was so afraid of the Russians and Cuba. Expecting any minute to be bombed off the face of the earth. Yet I am sure there were still people saying tomorrow.

Tomorrow is one of those mythical days that will never be here. Every day is today and when tomorrow does get here it is no longer tomorrow but today.

I feel we need to focus on today and do all that can be done today, today. Maybe you won't always finish what you start today, but you can honestly say you didn't wait until tomorrow.

There are so many important things that need to be done today and should never be put off until tomorrow - which as I said, never comes - like telling loved ones how much they mean to us, thanking our Higher Power for His gifts of the day. It may not be the perfect day, but I am sure you can find something to be happy about today.

For me, today my knee is killing me, but that doesn't mean I don't have so much to be aware of today. The weather is stupendous, the sun shining brightly and I don't have to make a fancy dinner tonight. For those things I am thankful. Tomorrow may be better, it may not be, but instead of stressing about it I want to look at today and make it the most it can be.

Tomorrow is a non-entity. If you keep saying tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow you will never truly appreciate what today is. Each day is a gift of some sort. So don't put off until tomorrow the things you should do today. Procrastination is not an admirable trait.

And if you happen to hit a bump in today, know there will be another today soon and when it starts make sure it starts on a good note and take it from there.
